Altar Boyz and Joseph Arthur

By Michael Holt

I was surprised at the lack of 'A' artists that I could find in my library, however I was pleasantly amused as I listened to the cast recording of Altar Boyz, a musical that opened in 2004 in New York City. It was one of the first musicals I saw when I moved to New York City and listening to the album brought back images of the fictional Catholic boy band singing about waiting until marriage or the miracles of Jesus. Not only are the lyrics amusing, but the five men's voices blend together beautifully.

Joseph Arthur's 'Honey and the Moon' also brought me back to my first weeks in Manhattan, at the end of Summer 2005. Nostalgia. Makes me miss the city. The 'A's brought me back.
