Amr Diab – The Father of Mediterranean music

By Freya
Amr Diab

I believe that music has a language of its own. So, I always explore genres irrespective of the language. Arabian music has always been my favorite since the songs have great beats and tunes that you don't bother to know what the song means. On my trip to the UAE, I discovered the music of Amr Abdel Basset Abdel Azeez Diab, who is an Egyptian singer and composer. I also picked up his latest album, El Lilady, and most of the tracks are just awesome. Amr Diab's genres are Arabesque pop and jeel music, and he's also known as the Father of Mediterranean music and lives up to the name by being a versatile artist.

Here are some of his hits and my favorites:

Do you listen to Arabian music? If yes, who are your favorite artists?
