To me, LCD Soundsystem is one of the most interesting acts out there today. 2007's Sound of Silver is popping up on decade-end "Best Of" lists all over and while there are easily a bajillion reviews of this album out on the Interwebs already, here's mine: Wow.
Depending on how hard you feel like listening, James Murphy's indie-electro-punk-dance (or whatever) is entertaining and infectious, or poignant and slightly dark. "All My Friends" (if you can get past the repeating piano riff), "Someone Great," and the first 1:40 of "Get Innocuous!" are highlights, while "Watch The Tapes" on repeat has fueled many an angry run.
Recent rumors of a 2010 LCD Soundsystem album have surfaced, and I encourage you to get on the bandwagon now.
